Indiana University Delegation Visits KSU

President of Indiana University, Dr. Michael Mcrobie, along with a delegation of renowned scholars and key officials from Indiana University, visited KSU from October 27, 2014 to October 29, 2014.
Indiana University is one of the leading research universities in US.  Founded in 1820, it has gone a long way in providing professional training and advancing research.  It has a student body of over 115,000 and academic staff numbering 8,862 serving in 8 campuses of the university.  The university is ranked 101-150 on 2014 Shanghai ARWU Ranking.

It was an important visit to expand the collaborations between Indiana University and KSU, and it would go a long way to bring good for both the institutions.  Amongst other collaboration initiatives, one of the main purposes of the visit was to discuss about the implementation of dental collaborations between the two dental schools at both universities and to continue the ongoing discussions about the joint PhD program.

Another main feature of the visit was the signing of Academic Cooperation Agreement by the Rector of KSU, Dr. Badran AlOmar and President of Indiana University, Dr. Michael Mcrobie.  This would formalize the collaboration efforts being undertaken by both universities and would open way to collaborate for the exchange of researchers, teaching staff and students, establish and organize coordinated classes, conduct joint research projects, organize international conferences and exchange teaching materials.

In the leadership of Dr. Badran AlOmar, this visit provided a great opportunity for  KSU to present itself and explore the possibilities of collaboration with Indiana University.  This would help KSU to pursue its priorities in the area of international collaborations for scientific advancements.
