Academic Cooperation between "King Saud University, KSA & University of Bologna, Italy"
King Saud University has strategic alliances and strong collaborations with leading universities across the world. In continuation of its efforts to further develop strategic international alliances, that bring mutual and sustainable benefits, and while benefiting from the grand opportunity of the 5th International Exhibition and Conference on Higher Education, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and attended by officials of more than 440 local and international universities, rector of King Saud University, Prof. Dr. Badran Al-Omar achieved yet another milestone in the journey of sustainable international collaborations for King Saud University. On 16 Jumada Al-Akhar, 1435 (corresponding to 16 April, 2014) Prof. Dr. Badran Al-Omar signed a document of Academic Cooperation with Prof. Ivano Dionigi, the rector of University of Bologna, Italy.
This cooperation would open doors for the two institutions to join forces in various academic and research activities. Some of these would include exchange of researchers, teaching staff and students; organization of coordinated classes; conducting joint research projects; organizing international symposiums and exchange of documentary publications and teaching materials.
University of Bologna was founded in 1088. It is widely recognised as the oldest university in continuous operation. With a student body of 86,000 and over 200 academic programs, it is one of the leading prestigious institutes in Europe.
Under the able leadership of Dr. Badran Al-Omar, this cooperation would provide a great opportunity for King Saud University to further its international alliances and bring sustainable benefits to the university in particular and to the whole country in general.
